Shuri von Neuschwanstein is one of the main protagonists in the series A Stepmother's Märchen.

She is the second wife of Marquess Johannes von Neuschwanstein and the stepmother of his four children, Jeremy, Elias, Leon and Rachel. She is the current head of the Neuschwanstein Family.

Appearance[]

Shuri is an attractive young woman in her early teens with a slender build and fair skin. She has bright, expressive green eyes and hair the color of cherry blossoms, falling far below her waist with bangs that frame her face.

Personality[]

Shuri is cheerful and friendly, but generally reserved in the fashion of ladies at the time. She is a quick study, managing an entire March in her first life at sixteen after only four years of training.

Shuri constantly denies herself the pleasures of being young in the name of properly managing her household, something that worries and annoys her children.

Childhood[]

Shuri was born to the Ighöfer Family in Bretten, who, although of noble blood, lived in poverty and were looked down on by other nobles. As a child, Shuri dreamt of opening a shop in the capital, but she was ridiculed by her mother who had later married her off to the Marquess of the Neuschwanstein family, Johannes von Neuschwanstein, making her his second wife and Marchioness of the estate at a young age.

Etymology[]

  • Shuri is a Japanese name meaning "village."
    • Shuri is also the name of a district in Naha, Okinawa, Japan
  • Shuli, an alternative spelling in some fan translations, is a Hebrew diminutive of Shulamit meaning "Peace."
  • Neuschwanstein is a castle in Southern Germany.
